Frequently Asked Questions

Is GitSy free to use?

Yes, GitSy is completely free to download and use. You only need a Git repository to store your notes, which you can get for free from GitHub, GitLab, or other providers.

Which Git hosting services are supported?

GitSy is designed for HTTPS Git repositories. GitHub, GitLab, and self-hosted HTTPS Git servers are the primary documented targets.

Can I use GitSy offline?

You can edit files in the selected folder with your preferred Android app while offline. GitSy synchronizes the folder when you run sync and network access is available.

Is my data secure?

Your notes are stored in your own Git repository, giving you complete control over your data. GitSy doesn't store any of your content on our servers.

Can I export my repository?

GitSy stores your selected folder in a Git repository. You can clone or export that repository with standard Git tools.

How do I backup my notes?

Your notes are automatically backed up to your Git repository with full version history. You can also clone your repository to multiple locations for additional backups.
